So I've got this mazda tranny in my 92 f-150 Inline Six Cyl. The five speed model. I'm running 33' mudders and stock gears. Anyways, I have to replace the slave cylinder every 2nd year and it's kinda getting on my nerves because I've gotta pull the tranny everytime to replace the damn thing.
Wondering if anyone has done a conversion to a cable clutch?
Wondering what kinda tranny I can swap in instead? I wouldn't mind a lower first gear but I really like fifth. Anybody done a chevy-dodge conversion via adaptors?
Now I've been reading that there's a difference in ZF trannies; one for diesel engines and one for gas. Is there a big difference even with the torque in my inline-6?
I've also read tonight that gear oil in the tranny is BAD. Gear oil instead of ATF. Is this true? I've been using Mobil 75/90 synthetic for three years in both the tranny and t-case. Every summer when I pull the oil, it comes out clean. What gives?
