First time starting 292 ?
I just bought a '63 F100 and the guy said it was last on the road in 2000. He said the engine was rebuilt but hasn't been run since 2000. What do i need to do to before I start it the first time. It looks to be complete except for the air cleaner assembly. It is a 292ci with a 2bbl carb.

Pull the plugs and squirt a small amount of PB blaster down the holes.
Change oil and filter.
Remove coil wire and try spinning over several times. If all looks OK then replug, hook up the wire and let rip.
Probably have to prime the carb and maybe have to clean the lines and tank.
Hope that excessive moisture or mice didnt get down inside the carb!

Hey Merc, What is PB blaster?
An excellent penetrant, way superior to WD40 and clones. Most parts stores and even WalMart carries it.
Kroil is another one but not available around here.
