I have an 04 V-10 F350 4X4. It's lifted 6" and I have 37" tires with the stock 3.73 gears. I was reading the information about the new SC 1714 and it does not offer the option of entering tire size and gear ratio. What can be done to help with calibrating the speedo properly and also making sure the tranmission is shifting at the correct points. I hoping to do a gear change after the holidays that should remedy the transmission issue but still need to worry about the speedo.
I just got the 1714 Microtuner for my 2004 V10 and it allowed me to enter gears and tire size. Was this a mistake or does it allow you to enter the info but does not re-calibrate?
Hmm..... wow. Looks like SC did something new with the CAN bus systems for 03 (all prior V10s didn't have this ability). This is the first time I've run across someone with an 04 V10 calibrating their tires. Most 1714 buyers are F-150 owners.
I have 315's and stock 3.73. The tuner allowed me to enter all the info and it reset the calibration. Now I have better shifting, more power and a heavy right foot! The change in performance is very noticable, especially with the shifting on my 4spd auto. I have not checked the speedo since the tuner...no one has been able to keep up with me
I got the thing from Ken and it is well worth the money
