ok folks my truck is still stalling 87 f 150 302 ive done the fuel filters'new battery cables new ing moduel new tps new battery took off throttle body cleaned it with throttle body cleaner' cleaned the iac valve' put a fuel pressure tester on it it read 33 pounds of pressure the pressure bleeds down very fast after you turn the key off. went to auto zone the guy tested it said no codes i had just put new battery in so i might have cleared any codes i dont know i could use a lil expert trouble shootin dont wanna keep throwin parts at it? could it be my fuel selector valve??? any way to test it????im ready to sell it and go all GM
no i havent i did put fuel injct cleaner in the tank doesnt that do the same thing? i will look heet up online see where they sell it etc it would be nice if that worked eh?
Fuel injector cleaner won't do the same thing, it isn't designed to react to water. You need something to react to the water. I don't know what is made for gasoline, but for diesel a product called Powerservice seems to work well. I can't remember the company name, but it comes in a white bottle with a red cap (fairly non-descript, I know) Maybe they make something for gas as well.

33 psi is a bit low and if it's bleeding off real fast you probably need a fuel pressure regulator or a new pump. If it's doing it on both tanks it's probably the pressure regulator.

PowerService is the name of the company, I thought. They have several products. I buy Diesel Kleen when I can find it for $9.99/96oz. 6 point cetane boost.
For gas you get an alchohol based product. I used to get methanol from the hardware store until they went up on the price to $10/gal. Damn Lowes and Home Depot.
If you change the name of your thread to describe your problem you may get more help.
Is the magnet in your electrical pickup weak?

hi yes it bleeds off on both tanks um my chilton says its 39 to 40 psi at normal running conditions and drops to 30 psi at idle hard to know what the pressure is supposed to be we ran it and it never went above 35 psi at idle 33 the fast bleed off is my hard starting problem im sure but would that cause it to stall out off the blue? i guess i will read up on changing the regulator i was wondering ie there a check valve(ball) in the fuel lines or is it the fuel selctor that is the check? i hope its the regulator seems easy to get to lol I think i will also pour some kind of water dissapator in this next tanks full they should put a drain on gas tanks it would make life a lil more easy. umm trever ya mean the magnet around my coil i dodnt know how would i test it??? thanks for the replys ya all i'll keep ya posted.

My 87' was doing this and it turned out to be the negative battery cable. It did it one other time and that time the plug in down by the distributur had corroded, I just cut the wires out of the plug in and used spaded ends to fix them.
For water in the tank, its best to siphon all the gas out and get rid of it, and start new. If that is not an option, filling it up to 3/4 tank, and filling the rest with isopropol from your hardware store helps remove the water, as the isopropol will react with the water.
me, thats too much money and too much effort, so I drain the tank and put what comes out into my garage heater and get rid of it that way. At least its useful.
Isopropyl alcohol will take out moisture ratio of 1 to 1. 1 quart of alcohol to 1 quart of water in the tank, thats alot of water. You did not state how the vehicle restarts, does it restart instantly, does it crank and no fire, fuel pressure bleed off will cause a harder starting condition or a longer cranking time than not having the fuel there waiting for the crank signal to get up and go, but Ford does fire its pumps for 2 seconds on initial key turn on and if it is getting the crank signal when the engine is turning over the fuel pump should be running, there is alot of senarios that I could give you here, but the helper here is how does it restart or not restart but crank.
Broken Wire
Could the distributor shaft be wore out enough to cause this, because I have a similar problem. Intermittent hard starting. I have to grind 2 or three times on the starter to get the engine to fire. I also have a spark knock at about 1800 rpm accelerating or not.
