I recently purchased a 02 / F-250 SD LARIAT 7.3L. I was told that the truck has a power chip installed in it. I am concerned that either the chip wasn't programed correctly or its in fact bad. The truck has an enormous amount of power, however, its very jerky on the low end and it has stalled on me several times. It also makes shiffting of the auto trans hard at times. Maybe I need to disconect it or find a subject matter expert that can walk me through this matter. I cannot find anyone in my town that knows anything about this topic, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Where is this chip located?

Take the chip out and see how it performs without the chip. This makes sure there isn't another problem that you are blaming on the chip. In fact, if you were to take it to a professional, this is the first thing they would also do.
hey its suppose to shift harder w/ the chip, its a performance enhancer and it prolongs the life of the transmission, after all thats a lotta torque your dealing with.
as for the stalling, it shouldnt be a problem w/ the chip, more than likely its a sensor, probably a cam position sensor, those are notorious for stalling your truck. but the first thing you should do is take the chip out and see if she still stalls.
Bigballin13139 >>Appreciate the Scoop. I have heard the cam positioning sensor and the crank sensor. I have my rig in the shop as we speak (Warranty) Hopefully its not the Chip. I have heard from others that the Chips rarely go bad. Hopefully this fixes the problem. Tracker8
