Has anyone swapped a 2.3 turbo f.i. into a 2.0 carb??
My husband has an '87 Ranger 2.0 Carb. He's putting an '87 Mercury Mercur 2.3 Turbo f.i. into it. He got all done on it except for the ignition wiring, and he can't figure it out. Books upon books, and no info. If anyone has any idea of where to get help or can help me, please let me know. We've been running on one truck for 2 months. Thanks! Angela

I have not done the swap but I do have a Mustang SVO sitting in my driveway. I can always look under the hood. Is there a specific connection he is having trouble with? Has he tried looking at the shop manual for the donner car? There was also a Ford guide to fuel injection that was sold in the motorsport catalog several years ago. I do not know if that is still available or if it would have all of the info you need but it might help if you can find it. Sorry I cant help more than that, but I have not had to dig into the ignition system on mine yet.

Yes, we were having trouble with the ignition wires. I do believe he has it figured out now. He got that part together, and now he's putting in the fuel pump to make it work. I will let you know how it turns out. I know he hasn't had an easy time. Thanks for responding!
