telescoping tow mirror help

Guys,

I need to order a new left side mirror for my 250 SD. It is manual, telescoping and non heated tow mirror. The place that I was looking at has it listed as a couple of different things but the one that got me was either single swing or double swing. Does anyone know what that means. Thanks Randy

The double swing is the newer style that will fold forward as well as backwards. This helps when backing up and catching the mirror on an object, most likely resulting in a broken mirror. If you can afford a set I would recommend replacing both to prevent further repair costs in the future.

Telescoping Mirror Stuck

My telescoping mirror is stuck in the out position, e.g. it does not slide in or out. Need suggestions for freeing mirror so that it will be able to slide through all positions. I am trying to salvage the mirror so that I don't have to buy another one.

Not sure if this helps, but there's a guy named Rick thats selling the '03+ mirrors that are heated and lighted for a decent price... I picked some up and with a little wiring, I'm all set...and love them! It might be just as cheap as picking up a new mirror.

Colorado Red how can I contact Rick? I have an '03 Limited that I would like to add the heated, lighted (with running lights) tow mirrors.

Do the mirrors he has allow for swinging forward and backward (I almost said "swing both ways"!)?

Thanks,

I cracked the orange marker light on the left mirror which is heated and telescoping (03 250). Do you think I can get just the orange blinker lens or do I need to buy the whole thing?

You sure can. I just had to buy my 3rd one on wednesday. I'm wondering what amount I would have to buy to get a bulk rate.

Part #- 4C3Z*17D742*BAA

This last one cost me $95.84 at a dealership in Laredo, TX. But you can find them for around $65.00-$75.00 if you shop around.

On edit:
Actually I think the part number above is for the right side.

Left side is: 4C3Z*17D743*BAA (these are the orange lenses only, not the whole mirror)

I guess it just snaps into place? I wonder how much the whole assembly is?
