Trucks manufactured for sale in California would have different requirements for emissions than the other 49-state trucks. If the DSO code shown on the vin plate on the door is NOT 71 or 72, then it is probaly a non - CA emissions truck. This means that the emissions requirements are PCV, EGR, and leaded gas without a catalytic converter. If your lucky enough to have the original engine with the emissions sticker on the valve cover, it would say non-catalyst on the emissions sticker.
i looked on the door and there is no dso code shown on the vin plate so im thinking its not a ca emissions truck its not the original engine i put this one in i didnt see no sticker on the one that was in the truck
A DSO code would be stamped on every truck manufactured. It simply indicates which "district" the truck was shipped to for sale. It would be a two digit number on the lower right portion of the tag on the door frame.
the sticker sows the dso code on the bottom left and its blank if there was something in the box i might of removed it when we paint ed the truck cuse i for got to tape that up and had to use thinner to get the paint off on the bottom right side in a little box the is a bunce on numbers but it dont say what it is for
