I want to swap an AOD trans into my project 1980 Econoline Chateau van (original carbureted 302) in place of the FMX. The AOD was not a factory option in the full size vans in that year and my concern is about the all-important TV linkage that's needed.
After numerous suggestions nobody has suggested the obvious which is to find a later year donor van which came factory equipped with an AOD. Should have everything I need, right? Am I missing something? Alternatively, is there an aftermarket TV kit for my application?
Thanks, jeepkiller.
Lokar has the TV cable I need. They also have the bracket for hooking up to a Holly, Edelbrock or Quadrajet carb. I want to use the stock 2 bbl but I suppose I could fabricate something.
BTW, can you recommend a reliable rebuilder of AOD trans? Thanks again.
