Snow Plow
Hey all,
Well, here in the Northeast, winter is starting to bear down on us.
Here I am with a 92 Bronco, 5.8L Manual 4x4, automatic tranny. And thinking of sticking a plow on her..
Now, I have no intention of plowing commercially, no large lots, streets, highways or anything like that. I will be cleaing my 2 driveways, and likely a neighbor or two, thats it.
I am currently considering the Boss poly blade plow.
I want to know who else out there plows with the truck, and what suggestions any of you may have.. Suspension modifications, plow type?? Basically any help you can give me would be great. The last vehicle I had a plow on was an F-250, bought with the plow, so none of this was my concern then...
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Being that you are not going to do alot of plowing, that is to make a living, you can get away with a light duty plow. Now I haven't done it myself, but I have heard that the weight and regular use of a plow can reak havoc on the stock suspension. Like wasting ball joints, springs etc. Depending on the type of play you get, if it is easy to remove and connect, then removing it between snowfalls would help save the suspension...unless you upgrade it.
Billy,
Thanks for the advice.. I have owned plows in the past, and for everyone elses' benefit, yes they raise hell with the front suspension.. Alot of that depends on how you handle it though.. If you slam into banks and curbs, you will break frame.. If you plow at excessive speed, you will tear up steering.
I'm wondering more if anyone has any experience with the poly blades, and what they need done. Airbags would be a simple suspension mod to keep the clearance, and the truck level.
Thanks again.
