Yesterday I was driving my truck and the engine started to get real quiet. Then the turbo began to cycle. Once I got off the highway and into the city, the engine became so quiet I couldn't hear it at the stop lights. Taking off from the stop lights produced massive amounts of white smoke from the exhaust pipe and a little hesitation and bucking. I happened to be driving past a Ford Dealership, so I pulled in while the truck was blowing smoke and pulled right into their service bay. The manager came to the window and said I'll have you a rental in 30 seconds. I timed it, 28 seconds, and an Escape was brought in for me.
Looked on FTE last night and it looks like there are others with the same symptoms. It looks like in most cases it was the EBP sensor. I will post the results of this problem as they come.
The funny part was that I was picking up green chili and I had to put it all in the Escape, it kinda drowned out the new car smell.
Well, I got the truck back tonight. It was a sensor, but it wasn't the EBP sensor. It was the ICP, Injector Control Pressure, sensor. Drove back from Santa Fe with the truck and got 22 mpg after the repair. That's the highest I've ever gotten in the truck since new. Not holding my breath but I hope the mileage stays that high.

Within the first 1000 miles of my truck, they replaced the ICP sensor. However I didn't have any problems, it was there for an oil change, and they said it popped a code, and they decided to change it then. I gained 2mpg and have yet to lose it.
Taking my truck in this afternoon, it's been doing this off and on for about 3 weeks. I drove from LA to Vegas over the weekend and got about 16 MPG, I have 28,000 miles on the truck, I think I should be getting better mileage than that.
Hopefully, whatever the problem is, is the culprit to the poor mileage.
