im got a o ring kit for my ipr but want to try to disconnect it to see if its the problem also, where does it get disconnected and am i at any other danger doing it??
still tring to track down why my truck runs like doo-doo right now, unplug the ipr and it stalls right away, so i dont think that is sticking, still leaning tward hpop problem
as soon as you pull the plug its dead, if it stays running its supposed to mean your ipr is stuck open, truck barley idles, with no oil pressure on dash gauge, oil pressure dosnt pickup till 1600 rpms, trying to figure it out. it cleans up after about 1000 rpm but still not right

I would make sure that your LPOP is ok before looking at the HPOP. No pressure on the dash guage???
im gonna replace the lpop today and cover today. hope that takes care of it cheap fix compared to the hpop. gotta figure out which puller i need first though.

While it's off get some carburator cleaner and flush it backwards through the pickup tube with the drain plug removed to flush out any potential obstructions. Don't be stingy, use a lot. You'd be surprised at how much a difference it is with just a small amount stuck on the screen. I've seen it a lot with Audi 5 cylinder engines, which have the same type of oil pump, mounted on the crankshaft with a remote pickup tube.
well all the tools it takes to replace to oil pump are over $1000.00 only spx makes them little specialty crap to take off and reinstall the wear sleave and install the oil seal, so im gonna keep working at figuring out what else could be causing this, oh yeah and half thoose tools are 3 weeks out also. i was at the international dealer again today and none of there techs have ever replaced a oil pump or pickup tube on a t444e. and ive never heard of an oil pump failing like this, either had then die over long long peroid of time due to wear which my truck dosnt fall in this category with only 158k on it. or disingrated itself, but if it did option 2 the truck woulndt run at all and id be looking for a rebuild kit right now. just dosnt make sense when i have good pressures at the oil filter.....im wondering if i have a dieing/ clogged fuel pump and its not letting the regulator bring the pressures up ???? im kinda suspect about the fuel i had in one tank it sure dosnt smell like 100% #2 i swear im smellin some gasoline in it, and the fuel in the other tank is from a prior fill up, when i got some known #2 it is better now but still not right. i wish i could get this pulgged into the computer. and theres no codes its throwing. i checked my recipts and there all #2 no gas by accendent. i just dont know what to do, and the only decent techs for this truck are backed up anywhere from 4-6 weeks due to lots of theese motors out round here and only a handfull of good techs. bad when the ford dealer even tells you to take it to international.....
Well I still can't get over the no pressure on the guage. Just to make sure why don't you get a 100 psi guage and test the LPOP pressure and be sure? With all the foamy oil that you mentioned earlier it would a very good idea to establish a good foundation before proceeding.
the gauge i have goes up to 100 psi, i think theres a pressure relive valve in the heat exchanger oin the drivers side of the block that had died on me, i lost oil pressure all the sudden and it started missing all the sudden after a hard run. im not stuck on the lpop being bad only havin 157k on the truck, the one on my old psd went over 500k the only reason i replaced it cause i had the motor out anyways. im thinking a oil valve or sensor somewhere. im just having a hard time getting all the information i need about the lube system on that motor. and if it was a hpop the problem would get worse with higher rpms and oil demand. i think the relive valve on the lube sytem is supposed to bypass at 80 psi. i get 50 wot at the oil filter. the oil wasnt as foamy as i first though, i changed oil, fuel filters and it runs better and new oil. but still no op before 1600rpms. im trying to find out if fuel pressure can regulate the oil system at all. ive heard that in a low pressure fuel problem can cuase the bypass in the hpop res to return oil back to the pan so it dosnt create pressure on the supply side of the hpop. so im getting a fuel pressure gauge tommorow to get that in there to see if im loosing a fuel pump. ive never had a lpop go like this and the front cover isnt leaking either. and the international techs ive talked too have also never had to replace a lpop this early in a truck. all have been over 300k i want to get it plugged into the ford computer to see if i can find something else there. id love to have that software for my self.....or at least a good service manual for that truck i have the general haynes diesel book. helps with a few things mostly just torque specs and little odds and ends.....
