Oil leaks,several
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
My vehicle:
<o:p></o:p>
04/04 F250, 6.0L Powerstroke,Crew Cab FX4, Short Bed,Torque Shift, 3.73 rear
Chassis build date Februa ry 2004. Right valve cover sticker shows 2004 for engine.
Current mileage: 13014 Vehicle purchased mid June 2004
This vehicle is bone stock except for two additions
<o:p></o:p>
Additions added: Diamondback bed cover
Turbo cool down timer
<o:p></o:p>
A few things to mention
<o:p></o:p>
1) Just changed my engine oil for the fourth time. While crawling around under the vehicle I noticed engine oil on the frame (both sides) directly below the turbo-to-intercooler hose connections. I checked and made sure all the hose connections are tight which they are.
<o:p></o:p>
The engine appears to be running okay but I’m curious. If the hose connections are allowing engine oil to seep by what about turbo pressure seeping by?
<o:p></o:p>
Engine oil level is not dropping and all Blackstone analysis (performed since first oil change) indicates only .5% fuel dilution. I have been using Shell Rotella T 15W40 engine oil since my first oil change.
<o:p></o:p>
How can I solve this oil seepage problem.??
<o:p></o:p>
2) I have noticed dried engine oil on both rear exhaust manifold runners for each rear cylinder. Not sure if the oil is leaking from the valve cover, the rocker box or from the glow plugs. Any thoughts??
<o:p></o:p>
3) Have dried the lower bell housing area of the transmission occasionally and I see a good track of oil on the underside. Not sure if I truly have an engine oil leak here or just the “assembly lube” working its way out. I do not see any oil on the ground underneath the truck when parked. Any thoughts on this??

Well there are many more people here that are better with oil leaks than myself. However I will help where I can. I do know that they are recommending about 20,000 miles before the assembly lube in the bell housing should no longer come into play. So you still have a while before, so it could "possibly" be assembly lube. Seems mine finally stopped about 18kmiles. It was never a lot of wetness, just enough to discolor. If you are worried about this, your dealer can add some flourescent dye, and they will check it with a flourescent light after about 1000miles. Now, pertaining to #2. I have heard mostly of possible oil leaks being from injectors. Have you seen any recent oil, or has it been the same spot for a while now? As far as #1, there are several things you can do. First, have you received the updated pipes and boots? Second, you can remove the boots, clean the pipe and interior of the boot, and reclamp, and see if that fixes your problem. I'm sure someone else will be along shortly.
Best of Luck,
Corey
