302 in a 64?

302 in a 64?
I have a 64 SWB with a 292 and 3speed. I have already found engine mounts.
I was mainly wondering about what transmission to use. I'd like a 5 speed or would consider a 4 speed. does anyone have any knowladge of someone doing this swap? I'd like to know if there are any trannies that would fit with the shifter in the correct location on the floor.
Also, does anyone know if the 292 and 302 trans bolt patterns are the same? I kind of doubt it, but it would be nice if I could use the 3speed until I figure out what tranny and mods I need for a 5 speed.
Any ideas?

For your 302 you are looking at a top loader or possibly a T-5 or similar.
Toploader is a good strong 4 speed, T-5 was in later V8 Mustangs and others with an OD.
Both can have the shifter moved forward for your application. The toploader site shows this. Not cheap.
