Fuel /Engine running problem?.

my van stalled on the highway, i could here the fuel pump and tell it wanted to start but couldn't. i changed the fuel pump and it started up, but died again when i let off the gas. anyone got any ideas what to try next? thanks ~K

what year model are we talkin'? what motor?electronic or manual? some older manual fuel pumps will "vapor lock".

this is an electric fuel pump on a 88 ford aerostar... thanks

Sounds more like a bad ICM, it's located on the distributor, you might ask in the aerostar forum.
