- I have a 1981 F-150 Custom, very basic with no factory options installed. My windshield wiper switch has only two speeds but I would like to have a delay setting also. If I buy a new dash switch from Ford with the delay position will that give me the desired effect or do I need to buy a new wiper motor as well?
You will need the other part of the set up also. It is the part that regulates the delay. I got the one I have out of a boneyard for minimal cost. It consisted of the switch that mounts to the dash, the wires from the switch to the controller, the controller itself and the wires from the controller to the harness and fuse block. It all came out as one unit.
