Please Help. 4r100 Tran Question

I have a 99 F 150 with a 4R100 automatic transmission. I changed filter and fluid and in the pan was a plastic plug? with a o-ring attached. what is it and were does it go? Was it a dust plug for filler tube?

It's a shipping plug. The transmission is sent to the assembly plant without a dipstick. The plug is pushed into the pan when the dipstick is installed.
