Well at least thats what it sounds like. I put the new exhaust on the truck last night and it sounds amazing! I went with the Magnaflow 4" turbo back with the Bassani 6" exhaust tip. Instalation was perfect and no problems. However getting the stock downpipe off was a terrible pain in the a$$! There is one bolt that sticks throught the fire wall and it was getting caught on the insulation of the downpipe and keeping me from getting it out. So I had to reach in there and saw it off with hack saw. Mad did that sux! Other than that I am very happy with it and it sounds/looks amazing. I will get some pics up after I wash it up.
I do not have the cat anymore. And yes I have the muffler. It has a nice rumble to it, and really no drone at all. Really wakes it up and my EGT's fell considerably.
What probably benefitted your egt's the most was getting rid of the stock VERY restrictive muffler....
ANYTHING is better for egt's than THAT boat anchor
I looked thru the cat when I put my turbo back on...
and it is as large an opening as my muffler, so there's no restrictions to it....
others have tested cat or no cat and found that there was NO measurable difference in dyno or track runs.... so I left the cat in mine...
toned down the f-15 scream just enough to make it ok for the neighbors
