The verdict is in, I can keep driving my truck without worry the engine is going to prematurely grenade. The oil held up very well, as can be seen in the results. There was very little viscosity breakdown, and all the element levels were well within limits.
The only comment they had was that everything looked good. I don't remember the averages and I didn't make a copy of the sheet they had, but I do remember that none of the items tested for was above about 10% of the acceptable range scale.
I probably could have changed the filter and gone 5000 more on the oil, but I really like the synthetic.
That is a very good motor oil your using there and it's built differently than the other HDEO's out there with bigtime boron and magnesium .
This 100% groupII oil " save the carrier oil " and it's ashless detergent dispersant pack is the best deal going IMO at this time for those that feel the need to run such oil in gasoline engines .
Thanks for posting your results. Once again, this shows that modern conventional oils hold up very well in warm climates, even for moderately extended drain intervals.
I would not leave any oil in a vehicle for ~25K without oil analysis. Some cars may support it based on analysis, but without that critical step of analysis, you are just flying blind and gambling with your engine.
Great report. If you deduct the 5ppm of silicon found in the oil's virgin make-up, your reading is actually only 7ppm. Good air filtration.
I haven't seen very many good 6.0 PSD oil reports. That engine and it's HEUI seem to shear down most oils in a relatively short drain interval, <5,000 miles. Makes me leary of the durability of that engine over the trusted 7.3L.
