Thought I would update you all on what happened. Debbie and I went to Watertown, SD where the accident happened today and I showed her the scene of the accident and where my son had been left. Yes you read it right. The accident happened out in the country about a mile out of the city limits. Joey was doing things he shouldn't have and it caught up with him. The vehicle went into the ditch backwards and hooked on a clump of grass and did a combination end to end as well as side to side role. During all this he was ejected from the vehicle and it roled over him. From this point we don't have an accurate picture of what took place. The young man says that he rode out the crash in the car with his seat belt on. When the vehicle came to rest on all four tires he got out to check on Joey. He says my son said he was okay and at such time he assisted Joey into the back seat and drove the vehicle into town. I timed the drive into town and know that at a reasonable pace it would have taken all of seven minutes time to get there. He left the vehicle on the side of the street with my son in the back seat and walked away and left him there to dye if he hadn't already passed on. I'm sorry guys but I can't fathom how you can leave someone in that type of circumstance. My son is the one that caused the problem in the first place but to end in this manor is difficult to accept. You have told me that your prayers are given for us. Let us go one futher and ask the Lord to impress upon this young man to go to the Sherrif's office and come clean as to what happened. Our son is gone and we can't bring him back but it would be nice to have the closure completed. Thanks for your show of consern and support. I have truly enjoyed the fellowship of everyone that comes to this forum. Take care and live well.
