The front rotors on my 2000 excursion (2wd) are warped bad...
Do the rotors come off of the front separate from the bearings, etc, or do I have to totally disassemble the front, replace the bearings, etc when I replace the rotors?
I'll do pads at the same time even though they are not worn out.
to continue with brake replacement question, in addition to slotted rotors and performance brake pads, are stainless braided hoses a necessary option? Thanks
Stainless hoses are not a requirements. There are some drawbacks to them, so be careful...
I've had them on several cars and like them, but they have some drawbacks, like: The steel braid can internally chafe, they stainless housing will chafe other things. You can't see damage to the hose until it's too late, etc.
Basically there are a bunch of opinions on the subject, so do what you want, but I'd hardly call them a "requirement".
