Clicking Sound

I was just sitting at a fast food window and for the first time I noticed a clicking sound now again...would that be the clutch in the fan coming on and off? I have 2002 4x4 XLT

I have noticed this too in all my Rangers. Does the rpm change for a second too? Its either the fan clutch or the a/c compressor.

Clicking Sound

New vehicles have all sorts of relays that kick in and out at random times. Does your truck have an aux electric fan? The relay that controls that will click also.
