Question manual hubs
Hello,
I have a 2000 F150 Super Crew Cab. Is it feasable to install manual locking 4 wheel drive hubs on this truck? The reason I ask is this: I was recently about 21 miles off the pavement in 4 w/d country and my truck's 4wd would not engage. This sucked hugely! Luckily, I ran across another enthusiast and he fixed it within a couple of minutes. It was suggested that I install manual hubs. What do you think? Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum

The hubs aren't what locks on these trucks. It is the front differential that engages. I don't think that manual hubs would help much.

Thanks for your quick reply! Is there anything that you could recommend, with regard to my 4WD to prevent me from "stressing out" while many miles from home. Thanks again!

Engage it once a month in hi and low. This will keep everything moving and help keep the solenoids from sticking.
