does anyone know for sure if i install some 7700 lb front torsion bars on an f-150 SCrew; will i be able to install a replacement front bumper/grill guard? does the 7700 payload stuff actually give you the ability to add more weight to the front of the truck?
Several things that give the F250Lightduty/150-7700 its towing capacity is the 7 lug axles they haveboth front and rear which includes larger spindles and axles shafts, Also the brakes larger then the F150's.for more stopping power{very important} due the increased towing abilites..along with the torshion bars being bigger..Then there's the frame, its reinforced and heavier.all those things combined give the LightDuties/7700's the towing and weight abilites. i hope that helps. Its kinda like the Lighting, there's more to it than just the engine that it has that makes it a Lighting.

I'm not sure that the tortion bars can be adapted between the two. If you could...
You can throw more weight on the front, but the rest of the system, as was previoulsy stated, will suffer.
I have a buddy who thinks by adding air bags in the rear he can tow a huge trailer... he's smoked the brakes several times now and won't take my advice. This may be more extreme than a grill guard and bumper, but the example speaks loudly to me.
