Oil Change Question

I have been using the Power Stroke 15w40 oil in my 2002 7.3 F350 4x4 along with the Motor Craft oil filter. The Power Stroke oil is getting harder to find at the auto parts stores, the dealer is over priced. I notice that Walmart always has the Rotella 15w40 for $6.29 a gallon, easy to find. I have heard some say that changing brands of oil is not good for the Power Stroke Engines. Is the true, or doesn't it matter as long as I change the oil and oil filter every 5000 miles? I will always use the Power Stroke oil filter, due to their quality.

Thanks

Go for it, the Rotella 15w 40 is fine. Meets all required Ford diesel specs. and a large percentage of PSD owners use it without any issues.

If you are concerned about future warranty issues with Ford, just keep all of your oil and filter reciepts.

Some PSD owners have reported new leaks etc. when converting to full or partial synthetics.

That will open a whole new flame war so beware!
