Howdy, I've putting this off until it's getting cold again in MN. My B3000 starts fine in the cold but the RPMs rev high and lo yet the truck is warmed up. Then in runs great. I have 207K on it. Had the codes pulled and the MASS Air flow sensor wasn't working and the PIP?(something in the Distrubor, i;m told) is not working right.
I replaced the MAFS and shot a can of AMSOIL Power Foam and a today a can of gumout Carb clean down the throttle body. It seemed to run a bit better after the second treatment of the carb cleaner. But not 100%. I'll start it tomorrow morning to see how this last run of carb cleaner worked. Any Ideas???
Thanks,
Doug
Whoa! IAC...What is that?
I also was told to look and Cleana to ERG valve on my 94 B3000 2WD. I have yet to find it and do not know what I'm looking for? Any Help...
IAC = Idle Air Control solenoid (valve). From the "Read First" item at the top of the Rnager forum, there is info on the 4.0L IAC. Here's the URL: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...hreadid=136188 Yours will look about the same.
You may wish to check a spark plug for fouling; spraying large quantities of cleaner into the intake dislodge dirt and possibly carbon from the combustion chambers. This lands on the plugs and forms a conductive coating. The tipoff would be loss of power and/or unsteady/rough idle.
