We are plannign on buying a new 2004 4.6L Eddie Bauer Explorer form Ron Craft Fotd in Alvin Tx. It has the following options; Sunroof, Quad Captians, Class III,IV Towing, Auxilary Climate, 3rd Row and Reverse Sensing. It has an MSRP of $38,070.00 They said that they could give me at least 9000 off and about 11000 for my trade (owing 10300) Then to get me over there sooner the manager told me that he had jsut recieved an email at about 7:30 pm from Ford about some Extra Rebate( for the Houston Area) he could give me.
Can you tell me if this is a good price and if he really did get that email? Thanks!!
1) The price is within $50 of what I'd sell it for, so that's good.
2) Since I have no clue what your trade is, or what it's worth in Texas, I can't help you there.
3) That extra rebate must be some local dealer-advertising-fund rebate, as nothing comes up on my screen. I have no way to verify it. All I'm seeing is the $4500 on Explorer, and the $1000 for financing it thru Ford Credit. I have to assume that those two are part of the "$9000 off" he's talking about.
Ok my trade is a 2000 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer V8 with 55,000 miles and a sunroof, side airbags, MACH, and Trailer Towing Pkg. I did a NADA and it came out with 12450, he said he could give me about 11000 for it does that sound rite?
Well it is a 2wd so I gues I will take youre advise, we are planning on going next saturday. Is that price that good for my trade in? You almost sounded shocked!
According to to Kelley Blue Book and Edmunds, you've got a $8800-$9500 Explorer. NADA is usually off the charts when it comes to REAL values; dealers love NADA when they're trying to justiify the price of something they're selling, but won't use it otherwise. Yeah, I 'm shocked they're giving you $11000 against such a heavily-discounted price.
