i keep getting an error code of 0175 and 0172 on my 1999 ford explorer with 95000 miles. I clear it and the truck runs fine.
I have had it to my mechanic a few times and he has cleaned the carb and looked for a vac leak with a freon sniffer.
Any thougths?
Also, i saw on another site where they were offering for sale a fix for the rear window wiper. Anyone know what it takes to fix it?
172 is for a lean condition. 175 is fuel adapt at limit HO2 unable to switch. If you can't find a vacuum leak, pull the O2 and clean it with carb cleaner. Clean the out side with a wire brush. See if it changes at all. It sounds like the sensor is sending a bad reading. The computer adjusts to its limit and makes the vehicle run bad. When the codes are reset it puts the limits back to normal and it will run ok until the comp. tries to make the adjustments again.
I appreciate the feed back. However, I think you need to check your error codes again or maybe I wasnt clear. I am using an Digital OBD II reader and p0172 is"System too rich( Bank 1)" and p0175 is" System too Rich( Bank 2) " according to my manual.
