Cold Start/Won't Start
Now that it's cooling up here in Alaska, once every 7, or so, starts, my 00' PSD won't start unless I crank and crank and crank...
I do have a mod. exhaust and intake (AIS) and a tuner. Could there be any problems with these mods? CPS? Anyone with thoughts about this?
Also, when I am warming her up there is a hissing noise from the exhaust that quits when I hit the break or gas peddle. What is that?
Thanks

The first thing that comes to mind is your glow plug system. You can plug the truck in overnight, and see how it starts in the morning. If it starts OK after being plugged in, I'd start with the glow plug relay, and work my way through the system, looking for the fault.
The hissing you hear is probably the Exhaust Backpressure Valve, or EBPV. It's immediately downstream from the turbo, and temporarily increases backpressure, in an attempt to help the engine warm up quicker.
