Hi all, im a new member, i've got a 99 Ford Ranger XLT, 3.0L Sport. Had a couple questions for you guys, im pretty unhappy with how slow the truck is, anything i can do to speed this pile up? Also im not sure if this is normal, but when i floor it at a take off it refuses to go over 4k, it just like maxes out. And when i kick it down on the highway it refuses to go over like 3.5k. Thanks for the help, by the way it only has 16k for mileage, and its an automatic, no 4wd.
First, welcome to the forum. I have a '99 Ranger like yours and have none of the problems you describe. You might want to spring for a diagnostic at the dealer to locate the problem. My 3.0 is stock except for an SSD air tube w/ K&N filter, and after-cat exhaust - it's not the quickest around but runs good. Good luck.
