I know the trans is simple, but how about the bost, and pyrometer
also what is the difference from post turbo to pre turbo?
THANKS IN ADVANCE
If you have a basic knowledge of hand tools, can install car/truck stereo's ect. and some drilling, tapping experience, its not to big of task.. The boost gauge can be tied in at several places, one being the Map Sensor hose.. The easiest, just a 'T' into the hose.. Intake/elbows ect. are the others.. The EGT thermocouple/probe can be put after turbo (post) in the down pipe, but exhaust temps will be viewed lower than they actaully are by hundreds of degrees.. Its also the safest place according to some, but I went before (pre) turbo to take the guess work 'and' math out of the equation.. Mounting the probe in the exhaust manifold closer to the heat source.. The big scare about going pre turbo, is that the probe may break off and go through the turbo.. Haven't seen one yet.. But not getting an accurate exhaust reading if your running at the extreme end of the 'safe' range can be way more destructive to the pistons ect. than the turbo eating a probe if your running high end power equipment Tuners/Chips..
You can do a search on EGT, Probe, Thermocouple ect. and there's alot of discussion on the topic.. If you install your own equipment, there's plenty of collective knowledge here at you fingertips...

Jason, since it seems that you are in LV try going to Diesel Dynamics in Vegas. They were very good at explaining and showing me how to install the gauges.
Thanks for all the info. also is anybody running the MBPR exhuast from MOTORHAVEN thats the only place I have seen it
I ordered a Cat Back on Friday along with a Preditor for my 04. I'll let you know later in the week how it is,, From other posts I've read the MBRP is supposed to be a really nice system. There are many places that carry the MBRP exhaust. I found a reputable place with a good price and was offering $10 shipping on all Exahust systems for this month, .. E-mail me if you want an I'll give you their name, Motorhaven also had good prices on the MBRB systems as well when I was price searching,,
Hey Jason, I also live in Las Vegas and did my gauges over the weekend. It's easy. And once you take a look at the probe, you'll ask yourself "How could this ever break off?" Also, one of the guys on here had a good point about the probe. The pistons see much higher temps than the probe and the pistons are made of aluminum, therefore it would seem that the probe is not in any danger of damage caused by repeated heating and cooling.
