ive been driving my bronco II now for about 3 weeks and everything has been fine up until i drove it to work and then i pulled into the parking spot and it just shut off and then it wouldn't start back up, i heard it could mabye be the alternator but im not sure? please help thanks jimmy
Can you be more specific about what it does/doesn't do? Does it not respond at all to the key? Does it try to start? Lights/radio or anything else work?
So, the starter will crank the engine strong, but the engine won't catch and run.
1st question: Is the engine getting fuel? This is best checked with a fuel gauge at the fuel rail. If a gauge isn't handy, can you hear the fuel pump (or pumps, depends on year) run breifly when you turn the key on?
2nd question: Is the engine getting spark? Quick to check with a timing light.
ever time my beast did this.. the problem was that stupid fuel interuptor gadget that is mounted on the floor of the passenger side at the top left hand edge of the end of the carpet. its alittle black box about the size of a cigarette pack with a white button that resets it... when this thing goes out it knocks the power out to your electric fuel pump and your dead in the water mine finally shorted out and i just by passed the whole thing.... i may get soaked with gas and burn up in a crash but my truck starts....
