Wont turn over

I have a 2000 F150 with a 4.2L and manual trans. I went to the store and when I tried to start my truck again, there was nothing. Lights, radio, dashboard lights are all bright. Battery is good. I had to push start it to get it home. It runs great it just isnt turning over. Its as if you try to start it without pushing the clutch in. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like a bad switch...not sure which one it would be though.

Does this sound like a interlock switch gone bad? The truck starts when I jump the solenoid.

Anyone else have any input on this? Mine started doing this exact same thing this morning. Pretty much same truck, 2000 4.2, stick. There's so many wires coming into the switch on the clutch rod I wouldn't even know where to start, not having a wiring diagram. Could it be a relay besides the selonoid?

I just found the problem. It was the solenoid. Pull the small wire off the solenoid(it is the wire from the ignition) Put a wire from your battery to the small post on the solenoid. If the starter doesnt turn replace the solenoid. If it does turn over, it may be the ignition switch or the clutch pedal sensor. Pick up a chiltons or haynes manual to help you through.

Use the jumper wire from the positive terminal on the battery to the small post on the solenoid.
