Hi.

I have a 98 mazda b2500 extended cab. with 98000 miles owned it for 3 years.

For 2-1/2 years the check engine light has been on. The light goes off in the winter and as soon as the weather warms up the light comes back on.

I have had it diagnosed 5 times and always comes up p1401.

I have replaced the EGR valve and the DPFE.

I ohmed and volt checked the (mafs and the tps) both seem in good condition.

After replacing the DPFE I reset the PCM and the light was out for the first drve then it came back on.

If anyone has solved this problem please e-mail me or answer on the thread.

does nyone have an answer as I am not fond of just replacing parts, that can become expensive

 

You should run the pinpoint tests to determine the exact cause but I'm suspecting a wiring problem, take a look at the wiires and connectors.
