Faulty Shackles
I have a 99 250 thats has superlift 6 inch lift springs. I had to replace the rubber bushings in the rear spring eyes. When I went to replace them I noticed that the shackles would hardly move at all, and when I did move them with the use of a large pry bar they would go back to their original position. I this a common thing, because I think this is what destroyed the spring bushings because the bushing actually had to twist and whatnot because the shackle wouldn't. Is this normal or are the Bolts that mount the shackle to the frame over torqued? YThanks for any insight on this problem.

They are supposed to be extremely tight. Thats how mine was when I put on my lift. I was thinking about loosening mine a little and regreaseing them to try and improve the ride quality(a little harsh now).
