E40D Slipping

I have a '91 w/302 and E40D. Bought on ebay. Transmission rebuilt less than 50k miles ago according to paperwork. It started to blow tranny fluid after an hour or more of highway driving. Had fluid changed. Has the standard radiator/oil cooler. Is there anything I can do other than a rebuild? Also, the push button 4x4 switch does not always engage. Help! I love the truck but I'm not sure I'm up for a tranny rebuild. Thanks for any input.

I had the same Trans problem after installing a rebuild. Seems like the cooling tubes in radiator get cloged up. So I installed an aftermarket RV cooler and eliminated the Radiator lines. Problem solved.

Well, that is definately a possiblity or rebuild left some junk in the tranny that just no started to cause problems. I still have the radiator hookup plus trin rv coolers due to the heat down here. no problems temp guage never gets to hot regardless of the abuse
