Pyrometer Instalation help
Hey this is my first thred, on this forum i really hope you guys can help me out. I'm installing the bully dog outlook chip on a 7.3 2003 ford. now i just want to know where the best place to tap into the exhaust, pre turbo, the instalations says 1-10 inches before the "y" pipe we're not sure which one that is, i'm sure they we found one spot under the truck it come right off the turbo, we think might be it but were not sure, if anyone has pictures or anything that would help a lot!!!!!

Drill and tap the left exhaust manifold right before the joint with the up-pipe. It's easy to drill and tap and there's plenty of material there. then you can run your lead straight up the firewall and into the paassenger compartment.

Get under the truck and look up pretty much directly above the oil filter, you'll see the driver side exhaust manifold and then the up pipe to the turbo. If you have a drill and tap type probe then follow JMorton's instructions. If you have a clamp on style probe then just drill the proper size hole in the up pipe just after the manifold. With either installation method make sure you grease the drill bit and tap also if needed. This will make the metal shavings stick to the bit and not fall into your exhaust. If you don't you'll be buying a new turbo.
