98 Ranger Boost
98 Ranger XLT 4x4 4.0
Want to boost performance and have been told to do these:
Oil Flush
Injector Cleaner
Bigger Throttle body
Conical Air Filter/ Filter Charger/
Plugs and Wires
Manifold to Headers
High Flow Cat and Flow Master 40 with Bigger Pipes
and more...
What do these do and if I do one will it void another? What is the best way to go? I just want some more gas milage and more horsepower would be nice.
Right now, I don't have any aftermarket modifications, but I would if I had the money. Everything you've listed looks like it would help with both HP and MPG. Although, I've been told by my mechanic that any type of throttle body spacer can worsen your mileage, depending on driving style. If you cruise around at low rpm's a lot, it will decrease performance. At high rmps, it will increase. You also might want to look into Computer chips that should add 10-15 HP. Aside from just spark plugs and wires, you should also look into high performance ignition systems and coils. Off the top of my head, www.msdignition.com is one website to check out. Should be info on computer chips on the fordtrucks.com website. I'm sure other people have some better suggestions also....

Thanks for the website, I'll check it out. I'll post any changes that I make and let you know how they are working out.
Thanks Again,
