yeah, if you have the 5 speed mazda transmission, you'll have to get a whole new transmission, with transfer case...
you'll need a complete front axle, front driveshaft, new rear driveshaft, and some other odds N' ends...I'm contemplating doing this conversion myself, as money allows...good luck!
The transmission has a different tailshaft housing (aka extension housing) so the transfer case can bolt to it. Most transmissions have these as exchangeable parts but you usually need to tear the transmission down completely to swap them from what I understand.
