Has anyone delt with these guys? I have a 95 f-250 4x4 supercab longbed 460 auto. I bought a set of headers and a side swept exhaust and have not been very happy with their support. The two items where to bolt in and connect to my cat converter but i as i said where to bolt in. they have not been very helpful with my problems yet. Has anyone else run into problems with their stuff?
Ive used Gibson products in the past, but I have never had to call their customer service lines. The products have always been spot on. What exactly wont bolt up, the headers to the Y pipe? Im not 100% sure what your fitment issue is.
bolting the headers up was not a problem until i got to the section that joined the two headers together. note, these are not shorties that bolt to the orginal y pipe, but a full set of headers, not what i was expecting. so the peice that was to connect the two together hit the trans cross member. header dump came within two inches of the member. with cutting and welding i was able to make it fit with some clearance. now from there they provided no connection from the two into one that should go to the front of the cat converter, they fell like 18" short. and offset of 4" or so. When i called them Shawn Gibson, he verified the numbers of the parts and the truck, which was right. He said it should fit with no problem and asked for proof of purchase and photos. since i have sent them want they wanted, i have not been able to talk to anyone, it is like they want nothing to do with me, no return of messages taken by his secretary, no he is not in the office and so on. all i asked for was somekind of compensation for what seems to be a design flaw on their part.
When i ordered their extreme dual cat-back for my ranger the driver's side pipe wasn't right. It was supposed to go on the inside of my shock, but it wanted to go right through it. Took some cutting and some work with a hammer to get it in, i never called them though, all the part numbers were right so i just made it work.
Well after some more phone calls, i was alble to talk with them again. Shawn stated that now that he seen the pictures and knows that i really did buy what i said i bought he will make it right and send me the fix.
the only problem i will have i now is that i will have to disasemble the system to exchange the parts.
this job started last week the 14th and i finally got to drive it last night (ford parts to replace too). Sounds really nice and seems to better on fuel and power.
