351C out of a 74 torino, completely worked, 450 hp
my dads friend wants to sell it to me really cheap, but my dad and all his friends said it wont work
i have a 78 f250 2wd with a 400 and a c6, now will it work, if not what could i do, i know a new bell housing is required, and what about motor mounts?, also do they make headers that would work...
I'd be wary of it if it's "really cheap" personal opinion there, friend of the family or not. There's always a price tag attached to such an engine, and for good reason. If it's cheap, and totally gone over with performance parts, this engine should be worth 5 grand or better. No one just gives stuff like that away.
As for the swap, anything can be made to work, with enough time and patience. You'll definitely need different motor mounts, and may have to fabricate some parts to make them line up properly. As for headers, there's always custom built if nothing lends itself as a factory bolt on part. With that much power, I'd consider having the C-6 reworked a bit to handle it. A stock slushbox is ok, but not made to have that much juice in front of it.
