ffv motor?
2.My truck idles ruff, and hesistates a little bit. I told the dealer about it and they said there is nothing they can do about it, but they are worthless anyway.
3.There is a whining noise that is progressively getting louder. You can start hearing it when i am doing about 10 to 15 miles an hour and gets louder as you speed up till about 40 when u can no longer hear it. Dealer also said they cant locate it and there is nothing they can do about it till something fails but it is anoying as hell. I think it may be a wheel bearing or a bearing somewhere in the drivetrain. I know its not the clutch because u can depress it while your moving and the sound will not go away or change at all.
4.When i am stepping on it, i can hear some kind of rattle, it sounds like its coming from the exhaust, dealer said they would fix it but they never did.
If anyone else had these problems, or have an idea to what is going on, please respond.
Oh yeah, mine (`99 Ranger) has the little "badge" on the tailgate too, a green leaf overlapping a road or highway I think - never noticed `em on the Mazda's though.
PS - Is it 4WD? If so, the "whining" noise is probably the infamous auto-hubs - spend some more $$$ or get used to it - I'll have to wait to replace w/ manual hubs (as I have no $$$!!! HA!).
Not sure about the rough idle & hesitation - could be a number of things.
Found the VIN "breakdown" - On Ford's, the 8th (eighth) digit of the VIN is the Engine Type - mine is a "V" and it is an FFV - hope this helps - but Mazda's may be different (?) . . .
