cruise keeps truning off.

Not sure if this applies..........but in the 7.3 the cruise would shut off from the speed sensor going bad located on the drive axle. One other thing.....just a shot in the dark.....any adjustment to cruise and the brake pedal...if you have a hair trigger it may be turning the cruise off.Do you lose your speedometer at the same time for just a sec?

I couldn't get mine to come on the other day. I was running about 85 on the interstate and tried to "set" it several times with no luck. I went through the sequence several times of turning the cruise on, then hitting set with no luck. I tried about 10 minutes later and it worked fine, and have had no problems since then. Iused to have a Grand Cherokee that's cruise worked intermittently also. If mine acts up again I'll take it to the dealer.
