Well long story short, I made a deal for Luverne powdercoated nerf bars. The deal was $200 installed. My wife took the truck(F250, CC) to the dealer and she came back with Go Industry chrome nerf bars instead. They look good on the truck but I have never heard of this company and Am worried about the long term quality of this product. Of course the dealer was closed when I got off work so it will be tomorrow before I can talk to them. Does this still sound like a good deal? I couldn't find prices to compare , just a 3 year warrenty for the Go industry Where I think Luverne's was 5 years. I have discovered that $200 bucks for any accessory for the SD is cheap, and the g uy "promised" me a deal. What is your opinion, fair deal or should I raise cain. Dandy
Well Dandy, I have the wheel to wheel GoRhino nerfbars with three steps, cost $488, so if yours is two steps for $200 and they are sturdy plus to your satisfaction, you got a DEAL IMHO.

I think the question comes down to whether you like them. If you like them more than the ones you were going to get, keep them and don't say anything. If you arn't happy take them back! Price sounds pretty good, as long as they are sturdy.
Perhaps they got yours and somebody else's switched?
Are these like the factory tube steps? I hope they didn't give you factory take-offs then charge you for a set of new steps...
I got the chrome Westin 2 step nerfs for $350.00, I have never heard of Luverne but if they seem sturdy enough for you I would say you got a deal for $200.00.
Several months after I got my truck, I had my dealer install the "Ford" chrome nerf bars and I think they were right at $400.00 for my standard cab. Keep in mind that was in 2001! There are several companies that build quality aftermarket accessories, look them over and if you're happy with them and how they were installed, keep them and use the $200-$300 you saved for something else!
I had a set of bed caps and runing boards made by Luverne, on my previous 95 250 and they are still looking good as far as I know. I think you will be happy with them. So long as you like the chrome instead of your original pick of powdercoat.
Well thanks for the info everybody. After all these positive comments I've decided to keep the chrome nerf bars and feel like I got a good deal like I was promised. Next buy is the grill guard, a black painted copy of Ranchhand for $400. Thanks again, Dandy
