heater core???
ok i've just bought a 1990 bronco and the beast is blowing cold air really cold air. i was going to put a new heater core in. " the intake heater hose is hot when the engine is warm but re route/ exit, hose is cold" i own a 1991 f-150 with the same motor 4.9liter that i just wreck and about 200 miles ago put a new heater core i removed the core carfully and was ready for the swap when i relized the heater hose "intake" has a T and there is a little hose going right under the overflow hose on the radiator. WILL MY HEATER CORE WORK?????
So, making sure I've got this straight...There is a "T" fitting in front of the heater core on the hose running to the heater core? I am assuming the heater core only has two hose barbs here. As long as it is the same size or at least fits where the old one was mounted, you should be ok. Heater cores only need an inbound and outbound hose and no clogs to function. Not sure what the other one would be. On the later models the little hose under the overflow on the radiator comes from the lower barb on the throttle body. The return line for the intake warmer if you will. But with the I-6 engine, the setup is most likely different.
