truck will not shut off when ignition key is in the off position

I went out to move my truck tonight and when I went to park it, the truck would not shut off. I had to pull the negative cable to shut it down. what causes this, and does naybody know how to fix it? would it be the nuetral saftey switch? Thanks. It is an 85 ford f-150 with a 302 fi and auto tranny,
4 x 4.

Probably a broke ignition switch (Switch on the column, Not the key turn part) but there is another thread that dealt with this in great detail since his was an oddball problem...
