Stiff Throttle
I was wondering if there was anything I could do to loosen my throttle up. It is cold out now, and I don't know if the weather has anything to do with it, but I have to push a little harder on my throttle in order to get it to go. My throttle used to be free but it gets stiff now. It doesn't do it all the time, but off and on when I am driving. Like when I take off from a stop...it almost looks as if I am trying to race the guy next to me by the way my truck lurches, but it is actually because I have to use more force to get the throttle past the stiff point, and then it is like I am giving it too much pressure. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Check for a bind in the throttle body. You don't give any info about your truck so it is hard to say. Use some CRC Power lube on the linkage (not WD-40). Also a loose throttle blade can cause this problem.

He's right, the gunk that builds up inside that throttle body is amazing. I used a whole bottle of carb cleaner and an old tooth brush ta clean mine. And lube the cables n springs on it, loosened mine up quite a bit. Mine wasn't sticking but it was a hard petal.
