'90 351 No Torque. Chip prob?

Hello,

I purchasd the above truck a couple months back. It is an extended Cab 4x4 F-250 with 4.11 and 265 tires. The truck has absolutely no low end torque. It has the ZF 5 spd with the lower 1st and reverse. I have to put it in low range just to back up my driveway, or rev it very high and let the clutch out very slowly. Above 2000 RPM's, it runs fine.

The engine has 170K miles, but does not burn oil and passes emissions. It has dual exhaust with a high flow muffler / cat combo looking thing. It has a K&N air filter

It also has a performance Chip according to the P.O..

Is the Chip part of my problem? Do they rob the low end and transfer it to the high end? All ignition components are new, and timing is set correctly.

Thanks,
Jeff

No, chips don't transfer torque from one end to another, that's not possible. (Cams can move the torque curve)

First thing to do is start pulling codes from the computer. Autozone will do this for free.
