Anyone have these on their trucks, if so what are your likes and/or dislikes. I am thinking about putting two on a brushguard on my 250. Never had a lighting system any suggestions ?
I had a pair of 6 1/2" (forgot the model...) on my Toyota extreme rock krawler. They were fantastic. Lightweight, unbreakable.
You could focus them like a mag light, from a narrow beam to extreme flood.
I had 3 different sets of covers for mine. Clear frost, yellow, and black.
You don't have to be driving your vehicle just to keep them cool.
There was only 2 problems.... actually 1.
They were a little pricey compared to the everyday cheapie Hellas' (As you will see they will be well worth the price...), and don't extend the floods out as far as possible, due to the heat will bubble up the silver mylar inside around the bulb. I sent my first pair back to the rep and was replaced. He told me this was the concern, but I tried it again anyway. Never did hurt the lamps though.
All my friends kept outta my way, they were blinded by these intense lights.
I was cussed more than once, but they never complained when they asked for light and stopped to make a tire or driveline repair... LOL
It depends how you mount the brackets you can adjust the lights not only up or down but side to side.
As you will find, not many people have these lights. They are a item to be used, and they will hold up.
I have a pair of the 6.5" model and absolutely love the intensity of the brightness produced by these lights. They offer great durability and low maintenance due to them being built from Lexan. They are practically indestructible and rust free.
I always use a red top optima battery in my vehicles. It did nothing unusual to the charging system, nor did I put in a heavier duty alternator.
I'll see If I can find a pic or 2 for ya'... cwb
