Posting this up for anyone in the dallas area. On Sat I paid 1.96 for diesel. almost .20 cheaper than anywhere else I have seen. Its a Kroger gas station just west of Midway on Frankford in North Dallas. Not sure if the price is still that low or how long it will last. Just an FYI.
It sounds a lot better than what we are paying around the S.A. area. I'm hoping it will go down a little before the end of the month. I have to fill up!
the Flying J at Foster an I-10 was 2.04 when i filled up last night (wednesday). usually pretty well priced. lower then everything i see around the east side.
I don't know how the "truckers" are able to handle these prices. I can "stay home" and not use the motorhome, but you folks don't have that option. Something has to give. I know that if it doesn't, prices of everything we use will have to reflect "fuel 'sur-charges'".
I just drove from Texas to Las Vegas and the farther West you go, the higher prices go. Not much worse than Texas, until we got into Nevada, $2.39/gal. Now I know what the folks with Lightnings are going through, if they burn "Super Unleaded"! I think it cost $270 to drive the "hotel on wheels" to Vegas, but at least I have the my own bed to stay in!
What I can't understand is why diesel is higher than gasoline? It is first off the cracker and requires no "recipe". It is a by product! Diesel has always been cheaper than gas until recently. Now I get gasoline at $1.78 and diesel is around $1.96. I can't believe that there are that many diesel vehicles now that demand has driven the price that high.
I may be totally wrong but I heard the reason for higher prices is due to the demand for heating oil now that old man winter is upon us. As supply meets demand prices should level out a little.. My 2 cents...
